Hi there! I’m Hannah (she/her), a historian, writer, and arts and humanities professional based in New Haven, Connecticut. I hold a Ph.D. in History and Interdisciplinary Humanities from Princeton University and a B.A. in Honors History and French from Cornell University. My research focuses on culture, gender, and the family in modern France, and has been recognized by the Georges Lurcy Foundation, the Western Society for French History, and Council for European Studies.

My peer-reviewed articles have appeared in French Politics, Culture & Society, Film History, and Gender & History, and I was a founding editor of Digital Childhoods (Society for the History of Children and Youth). I’m also an independent critic, and write about European culture, visual art, and gender for outlets like Art in America, Frieze, The Nation, and The Brooklyn Rail, where I served as an art editor from 2018–19.

I’m currently employed as a project manager in the Division of Resarch, Academic Affairs, and Education at the Yale Center for British Art and have held staff positions at Artforum Magazine and ARTSTOR (now part of JSTOR). For questions or commissions, please write me a message.
