Hi there! I’m Hannah (she/her), a historian, culture writer, and arts and humanities professional based in New Haven and New York City. I’m currently Project Manager at the Yale Center for British Art and have held staff positions at Artforum Magazine and ARTSTOR (now part of JSTOR).

I earned my Ph.D. in History and Interdisciplinary Humanities from Princeton University in 2024 and my B.A. in Honors History and French from Cornell University in 2012. My Ph.D. dissertation focused on culture, gender, and the family in modern France, and my peer-reviewed research has appeared in French Politics, Culture & Society, Film History, and Gender & History. I was a founding editor of Digital Childhoods, the Society for the History of Children and Youth’s online magazine, and contribute to Humanities (National Endowment for the Humanities).

Alongside my academic work, I write about women’s history and European history and culture for major newspapers and magazines, including Art in America, Frieze, The Nation, and The Brooklyn Rail, where I served as an Associate Art Editor from 2018–19.
